Michael Jackson: The Man Who Thrilled The World

Michael Jackson known as the King of Pop died a lonely man who was loved by millions.

Jackson, by some may be may be remembered for controversies, such as walking to court in pyjamas and dangling his baby from a balcony. But now after his death he will be remembered for what he should always be remembered for and that is his music.
As a young eleven year old Michael Jackson begun his career with the Jackson Five alongside his brothers however it was only a matter of time when he began a solo career which began with the release of his solo album Off The Wall followed by the biggest selling album of all time in Thriller. The single Thriller created new boundaries with a video that was a one of a kind and one which of the likes may never be seen again.

One thing separated Michael Jackson from everyone else and that was his dancing. His dance moves such as the moon walk he created would have been tried by everyone but could never be done as well as the man who created the moves. Most musicians make you sing to songs but Jackson had the ability to make you want to sing and dance to songs. Jackson will be remembered as one of the greatest entertainers of all time along with the likes of the Beatles and Elvis.

Selling over 750 million records Jackson was one of few people who could bring the world together through his music and without question people will still be listening to Michael Jackson’s music well after his death as his life was lived Off The Wall, which wasn’t Bad and was definitely a Thriller.

Jenson Button is a deserving World Champion

He started the formula one campaign by winning the Australian Gran Prix which took him to the top of the drivers standings and he stayed there for the rest of the formula one campaign to become world champion.

Jenson Button at the start of the year didn't even know whether he was going to have a drive or not with Honda announcing that they wouldn't be competing in the 2009 season because of the global financial crisis. However Ross Brawn who was the team boss of Honda bought it and renamed it Brawn GP. Now using a Mercedes engine BrawnGP kept Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button as their driver for the 2009 season. Jenson Button even took a 50% pay cut to make sure he had a drive for the season which showed Ross Brawn how committed he was. After Button won the second grand prix in Malaysia there were complaints made that Brawn GP were using an illegal diffuser which is the rear part of the floor of the car between the rear wheels and under the rear wing. It is crucial to the aerodynamics, and small changes can have a big impact on downforce - and therefore grip and speed. Brawn GP along with Toyota and Williams were cleared by the International Court of Appeal who ruled that the cars "comply with the applicable regulations".

Button won six of the first seven races which is more then Lewis Hamilton won last year when he became world champion. After the seventh race all the other formula one teams had put in the diffuser in their cars and winning races wasn't Button' s priority. With the likes of Mclaren and Ferrari having faster cars and Red Bull with a cars just as fast Button had to make sure he finished in the points scoring positions to cement his place as world champion. He accomplished this by finishing every race but one which shows the consistency he has produced throughout the year.

However Button didn't do this alone, the brains behind Button's victories and the Brawn GP team is Ross Brawn. Brawn who previously won F1 championships with Bennetton and Ferrari when Michael Schumacher was there not only saved the team from going under but has now led another driver who isn't named Schumacher to a driver's title and a new team to a constructer's title in their first season in formula one.

Ever since he started driving karts 21 years ago Jenson Button has dreamt of becoming formula one world champion and from starting 14th to finishing fifth in the Brazlian grand prix that dream finally came true. Jenson Button now becomes the tenth british world champion and a deserving one at that.

Diego Maradona can do a Scolari and Domenech

One of the greatest players to have ever played football has the opportunity of following in the footsteps of two people who well weren't.

Diego Maradona can learn from what Luiz Felipe Scorlari and Raymond Domenech have done before him and that is to get your national team to the world cup final after struggling to qualify for it. Scolari struggled to qualify Brazil of all teams to the world cup in 2001 but when they got there they had the 3 R's up front in Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho and they were unstoppable with Ronaldo ending up top goalscorer.

Raymond Domenech struggled to qualify France to the 2006 world cup. However when France got to the world cup experienced players such as Thuram and Makelele came back into the team and they along with Zinedine Zidane got to the final but eventually lost to Italy on penalties.

Maradona can now follow in these two managers footsteps by choosing the correct players for his 23 man squad and thta should include the Inter Milan trio of Walter Samuel the defender, Esteban Cambiasso the midfielder and Diego Milito the striker. Another important player Maradona should pick is Juan Roman Riquelme of Boca Juniors who played in the last world cup. Picking experienced players like these ones along with young ones such as Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Garay and keeper Sergio Romero, Maradona will definetly have the squad and best player in Messi to win the world cup. Whether Maradona himself is a good enough manager to win the world cup is another question all together.

Roger Federer: The Greatest Tennis Player Ever

When Roger Federer beat Andy Roddick 16-14 in the fifth set at the final of Wimbledon he cemented his place as the greatest ever tennis player.

Federer who beat Roddick for his 15th Grand Slam title now goes ahead of Pete Sampras who has 14 Grand Slam titles. Federer’s statistics shows that he is the greatest and they are staggering.

He has won all his 15 grand slam titles in six years and has won on all the different surfaces which are hard court, clay and grass. After winning on the clay at the French Open this year that made him a winner on all surfaces, which Sampras wasn’t as he never won the French Open. Federer has been in 21 consecutive semi-finals and he has been in 16 of the last 17 grand slam finals which is amazing consistency. If Rafael Nadal wasn’t around then Federer would have won more French Open titles as he was the runner up three times to Nadal.

Rod Laver would be the closet to Federer even though he won only 11 Grand Slam titles. Laver could have won more had he participated in the five years of tennis which he missed. Plus Laver had won all four grand slams in a row twice which Federer hasn’t done even once. Federer also has a bad head to head record against Rafael Nadal who has beaten him at three of the four grand slam finals (Australian, French and Wimbledon).

But it all comes down to who you would want to watch and Laver in his time was great but Federer moves around the tennis court like a ballerina, he can hit every shot that is possible and some that are impossible and he has a serve which isn’t as quick as Roddick’s but is just as good which was shown by Federer producing more aces then Roddick.

Federer is only 27 years old and still has another three years left of high quality tennis. He says he wants compete at the Olympics at 2012 at Wimbledon and he wants his first child to see him win another grand slam. It’s good news for spectators but bad news for the players on the opposite side of the tennis net.
